- Pending3no. Oak (T1,2 & 3) - Reduce lateral crown overhang extending into rear garden by up to approx. 3.5m, subject to suitable growth points and the natural form of each tree. Max. diameter of any individual pruning wound is not to exceed 75mm. Works are intended to provide a proportionate reduction of lateral encroachment into the garden while retaining the trees’ overall height, character and amenity value. Limitations on pruning wound diameter are intended to minimise the extent of cuts and reduce potential for adverse effects on tree health and condition. Works will be undertaken selectively to maintain natural form and avoid unnecessary or excessive crown reduction.1 PUDBROOKE GARDENS, HEDGE END, SOUTHAMPTON, SO30 4RAReceived 19 Oct 2026TreesT/26/1023303.52 km from centreEastleigh council

Retain sufficient secondary growth and foliage to preserve structural integrity, physiological function and natural form.5 BRUNEL CLOSE, HEDGE END, SOUTHAMPTON, SO30 2TAReceived 19 Oct 2026TreesT/26/1023322.56 km from centreEastleigh council

- Pending1no. Oak (T231) - Overall crown reduction of up to 4m. A visual survey identified a compressed fork, with the possibility of internal cracking at the union. Overall crown reduction proposed to reduce the mechanical loading on the fork and help mitigate the potential risk of failure. The works are intended as a preventative measure to retain the tree whilst addressing the identified structural concern. 1no. Oak (T232) - Crown height reduction and reduction of lateral branches extending over 6 Churchward Gardens by up to 3m. A visual survey identified an elongated, overextended crown with a bias towards 6 Churchward Gardens. A reduction in crown height and lateral branches is proposed to reduce crown extension and associated mechanical loading. The works are intended as a preventative measure to manage potential structural risk whilst retaining the tree. All pruning will be undertaken using good Arboricultural practice, with reduction cuts made to suitable growth points and the natural shape and form of each crown maintained.6 CHURCHWARD GARDENS, HEDGE END, SOUTHAMPTON, SO30 2XPReceived 12 Oct 2026TreesT/26/1022963.36 km from centreEastleigh council

- Approved2no. Alders (A & B) - Pollarding to 3m. Dieback in crowns and in close proximity to the ditch and highway stone path to rear of garden. Trees were listed as mature in 1994 and after a further 30yrs are now coming towards the end of their normal life (60-100 years), they drop dead and rotten wood throughout the year. One tree had split into multiple trunks in its infancy and the weight of these individual trunks, hang over a path regularly used by school children which represents an additional concern. The intentions of these works is to extend the life of these trees and associated amenity by decreasing end-weight and thus reduce the risk of branch failure and support long-term tree health and amenity. Pollarding will also encourage fresh and vigorous growth and reduce the risk of them being uprooted in strong winds, several large nearby trees have been uprooted by wind including 2 mature oaks. Work will also allow further light into the greater general wooded area where many small tree are already growing and fighting for light and space to grow, including a mature Oak hidden behind these 2 trees. Future, it is expected that these trees will need pollarding back to 3m every 3-5 years. There is also a juvenile holly tree intertwined between and within these 2 trees, will be saved during this work, but it is suggested that this tree will be trimmed to ensure an aesthetic looking tree line during the process. Suggested that this work be carried out during the winter months to ensure minimum stress to the tree and cause minimum effect on bird life.8 PARK VIEW, HEDGE END, SOUTHAMPTON, SO30 4EPReceived 01 Sept 2026Decided 18 Oct 2026TreesT/26/1020343.27 km from centreEastleigh council

- Withdrawn2no. Apple Trees - Reducing height and spread, focusing on overly-long branches but ensuring the total amount of the live crown removed does not exceed 25%. We plan to remove the dead, diseased and broken branches together with those branches crossing and rubbing each, other to enable light to get to the lower branches. Following the RHS guidelines and good horticultural practice. Trees have not been managed for at least 10years and are extremely overgrown and unpractical for harvesting fruit above 12ft. The majority of the apples on the high branches are beyond reach even when using our extended long-handled apple picker, they then fall from a great height and end up bruised and with broken skins meaning they are unusable. Having discussed the management at length with Adam Maskill, Arboriculture Manager at EBC, we would like to manage the trees in November 2026.IVOR LODGE, WINDMILL LANE, BURSLEDON, SOUTHAMPTON, SO31 8BGReceived 31 Aug 2026Decided 27 Oct 2026TreesT/26/1020324.51 km from centreEastleigh council
